It is an official website of a movie --- Interstellar, Christopher Nolan's film in 2014, that is a kind of promotional strategies to promote the movie in the way of new media. Public can use their personal computer and smartphone to visit this website so that we can get the information of the movie, such as: the plot, the trailers, the production photos, and so on.


It is an two-column website. The navigation list is on the left meanwhile the content is on the right so that the audience could easily control and navigate it. San serif is used as the font at whole website so that visitors can read comfortably.


For the left-hand sides , there are the selection of HOME, STORY, VIDEOS, GALLERY, DOWNLOADS, TICKET AND SHOWTIMES, WORLDWIDE RELEASE DATES, and four other items, such as flash game and patch creator which is related to the movie and increase the way of engagement to the movie audience.
When I move my mouse to control the cursor hover on the selection on the list, the text colour will change from dark white to light white; and the size will become larger than before. With the black background, we are noticed that it is a button and we can click this button to see other content.


Even thought we can click to move into the DOWNLOADS page from HOME page or STORY page and do the same method to visit any page I want, it is not a complete linear navigation list for the website. This is because if I click either VIDEO or GALLERY, it would open a PHP page. The single column interface would appear on the screen and the corresponding content would be shown. Yet, we cannot visit other pages easily on this screen. We can only click the CLOSE button on the top-left corner with the cross icon to cancel this PHP page and go back to the HOME page.


Alongside VIDEO and GALLERY, the TICKET AND SHOWTIMES are the selection that connected to the outside website (WORLDWIDE RELEASE DATES are also connected to the outside website before the period of promotion, but now, it is only connected to a inner page that showing the film trailer). After we click it, it will show us a new tab that is about movie tickets selling of Warner Bros., an American entertainment company which is the distribution of the movie.









Lastly, as for the share button, it is not only appearing on the interactive event of the website. It is also appearing at the home page that at the bottom right of the page. And, http://www.interstellarmovie.net/, as the promotional use, is the website that fulfil the basically need to introduce the movie.


In order to wield the influence in terms of new media, the website has a series of flash game and the patch design, which is related to the film, at the very last of the navigation list. Like the situation of WORLDWIDE RELEASE DATES, both of the selections are connected to the inner page that the URL address remain the same domain name. Visitors can play the games or order the patch as a memento. Most importantly, a share button would appear on each page and those are connected to the social media platform.
